Meet The Host

Doug Stange

In-Fisherman Editor-In-Chief Doug Stange has for more than 35 years lead the editorial team at In-Fisherman on a quest for unique multi-species freshwater fishing information, offered to readers in In-Fisherman magazine, In-Fisherman’s annual Guides to fishing, plus books and videos. He also hosts In-Fisherman Television, which offers a unique format that takes viewers to three different parts of North America to fish for three different fish species on each show.

Among his many industry awards are a “Conservation Achievement” citation from the American Fisheries Society, where he has been a member for more that 35 years. In 2008, he was inducted into the National Freshwater Fishing Hall of Fame as a “Legendary Communicator.”

Cory Schmidt

A lifelong student of fish behavior and aquatic resources, Cory Schmidt authored his first In-Fisherman article at age 18. After graduating from Colorado State University with a B.S. Degree in Natural Resource Management, Schmidt worked as a writer, photographer, fishing guide, lure designer, and fishery technician, always motivated foremost by pure angling discovery. Beyond contributing regular multispecies topics to In-Fisherman publications—most notably on walleye, muskies, panfish, catfish and conservation—Schmidt appeared regularly on In-Fisherman Radio and was co-host of In-Fisherman Ice Fishing Guide TV. Today, he is co-host of In-Fisherman TV and is the primary editor of all In-Fisherman publications.

Joel Vandekrol

Joel VandeKrol is an Iowa native who grew up chasing walleyes on interior rivers like the Cedar and Shell Rock in a flat-bottom boat.

He still loves walleyes, but these days he prefers targeting smallmouth bass on the mighty Mississippi River. You'll find a jerkbait tied on one of his rods year-round. He rarely hits the water without his camera in hand and it’s not uncommon for him to set the rod down to capture the moment instead – something he's learned to accept and embrace, even if he doesn't always fully understand it.

With years of experience in the fishing industry as a freelance writer, photographer, and videographer, Joel is a former contributor to Target Walleye and Target Crappie.

He now serves as Senior Multimedia Editor at In-Fisherman, where he creates and shares original content across digital platforms, writes for the magazine, and co-hosts In-Fisherman TV.

Todd Ceisner

Todd Ceisner has served in various roles on the fishing side of Outdoor Sportsman Group since 2012. He's currently the Director of Digital Editorial for In-Fisherman and BassFan.com, a role he's held since June 2025. Prior to that, he served as publisher and associate publisher at In-Fisherman for five-plus years. He came to In-Fisherman after spending 8 years as editor of BassFan, where he chronicled the tournament side of the sport on a daily basis. Before working in the fishing ​media, he covered high school and college sports for daily newspapers in central New York and central Pennsylvania. A resident of western New York, he has easy access to some of the best freshwater fishing in North America, including Lake Erie and the Niagara River.

Tim Carini

Tim Carini is Publisher of the In-Fisherman brand, leading the team across all media platforms; print, television, digital and social. A seasoned media professional with more than 20 years of experience in the outdoor space including 13 years at Outdoor Sportsman Group and six years at B.A.S.S. Tim is a lifelong multispecies angler with a passion for bass fishing, having competed professionally at the highest levels in his earlier years. Today you can find him chasing magnum spotted bass at Lake Lanier.
