Jason Nauert

Jason Nauert is The Butcher. He grew up in Woodland Park, Colorado, at the base of Pike’s Peak, hunting, fishing, and everything else outdoors. He’s a master gardener, butcher, and wilderness survival expert, and he graduated from the Rocky Mountain Institute of Meat.

He began training the 10th Special Forces Group in 2014 on how to source animals and butcher them in unforgiving locations. Today, his training is in the Program of Record for the U.S. Army, and he continues to train Special Operations groups from all branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, as well as international units, celebrity chefs, and veteran organizations.

Jason is the perfect host to guide the audience through some of the toughest training on the planet and to teach them how to apply elite skills to their everyday lives.

Jason is actively involved with The Philip A. Connelly Program. The program is described as “the personification of food service excellence executed by culinary specialists resulting in the presentation of extremely gratifying dining experiences across all Army food service platforms in garrison and field environments.”

Jason is an active consultant for the program. His involvement includes butchering, food production in the field. He is currently working on a project with the 10th Special Forces Group on the development of new Cold Weather Rations and cooking in extreme cold weather conditions in Alaska and Europe.

Jason is a Resident Instructor at Colorado’s “The Survival University” where non-military people who want to learn more about surviving in the wild are taught by a team of experts.

Jason is a volunteer with Colorado Parks and Wildlife, teaching “field to fork” techniques and going on hunts with families.
